Blue Ribbon Run
Thanks to all who braved the weather to make this first year race one of the largest races in the region. Special thanks to the volunteers who donated the most precious gift, time, helping to make our event successful. This is a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk along the Loop at Wrightsville Beach. This scenic course is a popular spot for locals to get their run in. The “Loop” takes participants through the village of Wrightsville Beach, a public park, marshes and over the waterway. It is a popular course for PRs!

Why Run this Race
According to the American Cancer Society, Colon Cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death. March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month! Help make a difference as proceeds for this race will go to the Fight Against Colon Cancer. The Blue Ribbon Run is in celebration of Wilmington resident Julie Brown who died from stage 4 colon cancer at age 41. She was diagnosed in May 2011 and died in September 2011.
Race Reception
Join us after the run for a reception at Dockside across the street from the Start/Finish Line. Food and beverages will be served with a donation accepted.
