Description of Race:
This race will be held on the Boiling Spring Lakes Preserve and trails mostly off the pavement. The 7K runs through the Half Hell Swamp. This is a unique natural community being protected by the State of North Carolina and The Nature Conservancy. This preserve is home to one of the 15 remaining populations of Venus Flytraps, which are only found in this tiny corner of the world. It is being held in conjunction with the Fire in the Lakes Festival beginning at 1100. This festival describes the unique fire forest community we have in this area with games, music, food, entertainment, and a controlled burn.
