Course Description:
The fast and flat 5K course will start and end at Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel in Topsail Beach, NC, traversing roads at the southern end of the island.
Race Fees & Dates:
5K: $25 prior to June 16. $30 thereafter.
Fun Run/Walk: $15 prior to June 16. $20 thereafter.

Benefiting:
The Island Independence 5K is the brainchild of the members of Venture Crew 2727 of Topsail Beach, NC. As the co-ed division of the Boy Scouts of America for kids 14-21, Venturing focuses on teaching leadership development through high adventure and service to others. As a crew of active runners, the members decided to channel their passion for running into an avenue of fundraising for crew activities, travel, and service initiatives both locally and abroad. Additionally, a portion of all money raised by Venture Crew 2727 is donated to Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel as an expression of thanks for its support as chartering organization. By coinciding with the United States’ 236th birthday, the Island Independence 5K looks to celebrate the meaning of freedom and highlight the values of service to God, country, and others as depicted by the Venturing program.
Packet Pick-Up:
Packet Pick-Up will be held on Friday, June 29th from 4-7pm at Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel. 1040 South Anderson Boulevard, Topsail Beach, NC.
Awards:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be provided per gender for each age division, in addition to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for overall male/female winners.
