The Historic Wilmington Foundation’s 10th Annual Race for Preservation is more than just a race, it’s a party! This entertaining race is held on a Thursday evening along the Cape Fear River and Riverwalk in beautiful historic downtown Wilmington. The race doesn’t end at the finish line as runners are invited to chill out with music, pizza, beer and friends.

Location: Start is at the Coastline Convention Center
Address: 501 Nutt Street, Wilmington, NC 28401
Race Course: This 5K course winds through beautiful historic downtown Wilmington. It is one of the few courses that takes participants on the Downtown Wilmington Riverwalk along the Cape Fear River.

Race Fees: 
Pre-registration is $25.  On-Site Registration is $30.  Teams are $100 for 5 or more people, each additional runner only $20!
A $2.50 online registration fee is added to each entry.

Inn on race day at 4:30 pm. Registration will
close 15 minutes prior to race start.

Awards: Awards will be presented to top Overall Finishers, Overall Masters, Top 3 in Age Group

PARKING IS AVAILABLE AT THE CFCC SURFACE LOTS AT 2nd and Hanover St.

 

 

 

RACE DIRECTIONS:
Start on Nutt St.
Left on Red Cross – Run uphill
Right on 2nd St.
Right on Walnut St. – Run downhill
Cross CFCC lot to Riverwalk.
Run Riverwalk to Nun St.
Run uphill on Nun St.
Right on 2nd St.
Right on Church St.
Left on Surrey St.
Right into Dramtree Park
Turnaround
Follow course back until Water St. exiting CFCC Parking lot.
Take left on Water St.
Left on Nutt.
Left into Coastline Parking Lot.
Finish.
