2018 Veteran's Day Run & Services Fair Results

Come join us this Veteran’s Day in Fayetteville for a 5K & 1 Mile run. Both races start and end at Festival Park, with the 5K also going through Freedom Park & Rowan Park. All participants will receive an awesome commemorative coin at the finish line! Return and enjoy the Veteran’s Services Fair that runs from 10am until 3pm.

All members of the Cumberland County Veterans Council and other Veterans Organizations with chapters in the County will be asked to participate by having representatives and service officers at Festival Park to answer questions about Veteran’s Benefits, where and how to apply for benefits.

About the Cause

VFW Post 670 was established and received their charter in 1937, we moved into our current location in the early 1950’s. Since the beginning we have maintained a Service Officer who sole job is to assist any veteran with VA claims, pre-discharges, discharges, and resettlement problems.

The Buddy Poppy Program is held in the County monthly with all Donations going to Veterans or their Families in need. The months after Hurricane Matthew we raised and distributed over $3,000.00 in the county. We also hold fund raising drives for the Falcon Children’s Home in Harnett County, in addition to an annual Christmas Party. Our volunteers visit the State Veterans Home and the Veteran’s Hospital providing activates for the clients on a regular monthly schedule.
