Description of Race:
The Inaugural Wilmington Race for the Cure® will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Downtown Wilmington North Carolina. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, even in the event of inclement weather. The Race is a 5K (3.1 miles). 90% of our registrants choose to walk rather than run the 5K. We also offer a one mile walk.

Competitive Youth(ages 6 -12) 5k – $20 before 1/7
Competitive Youth 5k – $25 before 3/1

Recreational Adult 5k – $25 before 1/7
Recreational Adult 5k – $30 before 3/1
Recreational Adult 5k – $35 day of race

Recreational Youth(ages 6 -12) 5k – $15 before 1/7
Recreational Youth(ages 6 -12) 5k – $20 before 3/1
Recreational Youth(ages 6 -12) 5k – $25 day of race

Sleep in for the Cure – $25* before 1/7
Sleep-in for the Cure – $30* before 3/1
Sleep-in for the Cure – $35* day of race
*Add $8 if you wish to have your t-shirt mailed to you.

Recreational Child, Ages 5 and under – FREE, No T-shirt, No bib.

Fundraising Only – no fee, no t-shirt, no bib.

  • March 1st – 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. – Race site Downtown Wilmington (2nd & Market Streets)

Who we are:
The Race for the Cure is the Susan G. Komen’s major fundraising event of the year that celebrates survivorship; honors those who have lost their battle, and most importantly, raise funds and awareness for the fight against this life threatening disease.
