2018 Son Run 5K Results

Come race for pies and charity again this year at the 21st Annual Son Run 5K & Walk at the “Loop” in Wrightsville Beach, NC! All awards winners will receive a coveted Apple Annie’s pie PLUS various gift certificates. This year’s three recovery-based charities receiving proceeds from the race are: 13th Street House for Women, The Tides, Inc. and A Safe Place. This race is an outreach project of Wrightsville United Methodist Church.

About the Causes

The theme for this year is recovery, and all proceeds of the event are equally apportioned to the following organizations:

13th Street House for Women – Helping women to transition from jail, prison, and treatment centers back into the community, helping them to heal physically, mentally, and spiritually, and become self-sufficient.

The Tides, Inc. – Helps pregnant women as they navigate recovery from Opioid Use Disorder and work to become healthy mothers having healthy babies.

A Safe Place – Focuses on prevention, advocacy, and restoration to assist victims of commercial, sexual exploitation and domestic sex trafficking.

 Race Shirts will be guaranteed to participants who register by 11:59PM on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019. The shirts are available in Adult Unisex S-XXL cut sizes, and are from Without Limits.

 Be sure to claim your shirt today by registering!

This race course begins in front of Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation and is a flat surface, scenic loop around Wrightsville Beach. Automobile traffic will not be excluded – intersections will be manned for participant’s safety.

This race course is also stroller & wheelchair friendly!
However, dogs are not allowed on this course so please leave them at home or with a non-running spectator.

FAQ & GUIDELINES

Waiver: The Registration Agreement & Liability Waiver is linked to the Online Registration. This must be selected and approved during registration.

Packet Pick-Up: Family or Friends may pick-up your Race Packet at Packet Pick-Up.

On-Site Registration: Registration is available starting one hour prior to race start. It closes 20 minutes prior to start.

Timing: Jaguar Bib Chip Timing will be used to time this race

Weather: This race is rain or shine. It will be postponed, rescheduled or cancelled if a severe weather warning is in effect.

Refunds: There are no refunds, registration will be accepted as a donation.

Entries are not transferable to other races Timed by Go Time as each race is organized by a different group.
We must stick to this policy as race items have been purchased based on current registrations and it is not fair to choose who receives a refund and who does not.
